Charles Gurche is one of the country’s foremost nature and landscape photographers. With 28 years in the field, mainly with large-format equipment, his work is widely recognized for its artistic and personal approach. Gurche has received awards from the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History, the Society of Professional Journalists, Nature’s Best International Photography Awards, and the Washington State Governor’s Book Award. His images have appeared in hundreds of publications including Audubon, National Geographic, Smithsonian and National Park Service books and magazines. Airports, hotels, hospitals and offices around the world display his prints. Missouri, Images of Nature, Gurche’s first book, was published in his second professional year. Since that time, Gurche has photographed for 130 calendars and 14 books.
