Growing up in South Dakota, Tobias was inspired as a child by the wildlife and beautiful landscape of the Black Hills. As an adult, she lived for many years in coastal Northern California, enjoying the beauty of the ocean and redwoods. Now she enjoys exploring Washington state, her home for the past few years. The natural world in these beautiful places inspire the mixed media paintings she creates today.

“I have painted for many years and I have also worked with oil, pastel, collage, ceramics, and jewelry. I have marketed my work through galleries, art fairs, and retail and wholesale shows. I have a BA in fine art from The Evergreen State College in Olympia WA, studied painting, art history and printmaking at The Aegean Center for the Fine Arts in Paros, Greece, and graphic design and ceramics at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA. You can see more of my paintings, cards, and prints downtown at Pottery Place in the Liberty Building.”
